i love getting kicked in the gut

I thought I was imagining it.

About a week and a half ago I thought I felt the baby kicking. But no, surely 12 weeks was too early, right? Right?!

I googled "how early can you feel the second baby kicking?" and found all sorts of answers from all sorts of moms professing their experiences. Some claimed they felt it early - very early.

So... maybe, just maybe I did feel it.

But I really wasn't sure. It was just too early to tell.

{this is the most recent photo i had to go with
the post. it was two weekends ago when my husband
and i went out on a hot date for our anniversary.}

And then last night that all changed.

We were at a friend's house ooo-ing and ah-ing over their precious little newborn son and - while I held this prefect bundle of joy to my chest - I felt it again.

Clunk, thump, bump, pop.

This time I was sure it was my little one kicking. (Maybe s/he was just so darn excited to meet a future playmate?!) I've since felt the kicking four times throughout this evening. LOVE!

What an amazing feeling when your little one begins making his/her presence known in ways that don't involve fatigue, indigestion, and insomnia!

Talk about Special. (Yes, Special with a capital.)

There is nothing like a little kick in the guts to get a pregnant woman swooning.

*Swoon*

I'm now 13-and-a-half weeks along and feeling this baby much sooner than I felt Levi's first kicks. It's incredible. Truly.

I am so in love.

Dear friends, when did you feel your baby's first kicks? If you have more than one child, did you feel the kicks of subsequent children sooner??

getting a kick out of being kicked,

p.s. I wrote this post last night and scheduled it for today. Not that y'all care, but just so that the record is straight for me when I look back and fill in the details on baby's personal blog. First kicks felt on Monday, April 4th at 13 weeks and 2 days along! :)

i would have to dust off the old baby books to see when i recorded the first kicks....but i think my first daughter was around 16 weeks. felt like bubbles! i would have to say that i felt my son and second daughter much quicker, but i think that's because i knew what i was looking for. i don't think that i felt them quite as early as 12 weeks....but maybe around 14 or 15?? i miss all of those little milestone feelings....i sure hope your blog doesn't get me pining for #4!!! lol

I'm about the 14 weeks and I swear I felt my baby kick an move around. I thi k because it's our second one we know what's gas or our baby! I've read plenty of moms state that they felt their baby move as early as 12 weeks. I went it for my first trimester screening and my sonogram showed my lil bundle of joy moving around non stop. SO, I believe that you felt your baby (= Congrats and good luck!

With my first I didn't feel anything until almost 23 weeks but I think that is late. Hooray for baby kicks.

You are so stinking cute!! How fun to be feeling the kicking...I *really* miss that. My fav though was later in pregnancy when they would get hiccups. With my first I felt him at 14 weeks, but wasn't sure it was him until 17 weeks. With my second I felt him at 13 weeks. And it was consistent at 14 weeks.

I felt my first around 20 weeks, with the second it was earlier, about 16. You know they say if you are experiencing the "symptoms" or love of pregnancy earlier than expected, it might just be something as simple as twins, haha.

LOVE the dress! I didn't feel my little man until late....real late...about 24 weeks. we were starting to get worried because everyone else I know felt their baby about 18 weeks. He was pretty chil the whole pregnancy...not kicking me too much...and he's still like that now at 7 Months....a very chil little man :)

12 weeks is early but, that just makes it so much more special!!! I felt Daisy just shy of 16 weeks and everyone told me I was making it up because that was too early. I doubted myself but, quickly realized those bubbles were indeed the baby and I too was so in love with the little life in my tummy, soooo small and yet already letting me know she was there!

First things first...

YOU ARE GORGEOUSLY GLOWING!! :D pretty momma!

I felt Isaac around 18 weeks, and Phinneas...hmmm. Aw, now I feel bad, I don't remember when I first felt him! I do know that Finn truly loved to poke my liver with his toes and his butt :)

Let me begin by saying that you look fabulous! I am more skeptical this time around of what constitutes a "kick" but I have felt movements, consistently at night, since the beginning. That's really what made me even think to take a pregnancy test.

I'm pregnant with my third and with each pregnancy I have started to feel baby move a little sooner. With this pregnancy I first felt baby a little before 12 weeks! It's so amazing to feel the baby so soon...it gives you a little reassurance that he or she is still in there, lol. I am 14 weeks today and pretty much every night (hardly ever during the day)I feel him or her moving all around! Love! :-)

You look beautiful! Love seeing the little bump.

I felt little bubbly popping at about 13 weeks with this one, but I haven't felt much since. I was about 19 weeks when I felt Q kicking. I've heard that if you're on the slimmer side (like you are), it's not uncommon to feel movement earlier.

I felt my first at 15 weeks and my second at 12-13 weeks. :) I was like you at first, sort of not believing that was happening.

I love getting kicked in the gut too. :) I don't love when the toddler kicks me on the outside ;)

Oh my gosh you are just adorable!! I felt Isis kick at 16 weeks, but she was obviously my first. I think it would make sense that with your second you would know what to look for, so you'd feel things & notice things sooner!

Yay for baby kicks!!

Awww. . .you look so cute! I love those first kicks. What a total miracle. How can we question God when we feel that?

You look beautiful!! I felt our son kick really early too [around 14 weeks?] and the doctor argued that is was just muscle spasms or [lol] gas pain. :) But I know it was him kicking. And I agree with what Amy said-how can ANYONE question God when they experience pregnancy?

You are adorable! I loved this part of pregnancy. I felt my first at 15 weeks, and my 2nd not until 20 weeks, which is odd because usually you can feel the 2nd one sooner. Although my 2nd is a bit of a docile peanut compared to her big sister! LOL.

I felt the kick of the second so much sooner.

I could be pregnant 20 x, and that first kick...still, the miracle of it all.

Such happy, happy memories..

Oh those first kicks are so precious and special! It's like a personal hello from the inside, reminding us of their sweet presence and growth. Enjoy this time before he/she starts really letting those feet fly hard!

Great picture you look amazing! Maybe your dates are a bit further than you thought, that's some bump you have already! I can remember with my first I didn't feel anything until about 18 weeks but it was about 15 weeks with my second. I wonder why that is?!

Such a sweet post... and, um, you look AWESOME!

I felt kicks earlier with #2 as well. Can't remember exactly when (I'm sure I wrote it down somewhere) but it was right around the start of my 2nd trimester. Congrats by the way!

Yay! So exciting! I heard you can feel the second one sooner, perhaps because you're more familiar with the feeling? I felt Charlotte kick at about 18 weeks? 20 weeks? Somewhere in there. You look beautiful!
