a letter to my pregnant self {at ingenue mom's place}

I'm so excited to be doing my first ever guest post today! And, not only is it my first guest post... it's on the blog of my first (of many) bloggy-friend-turned-real-life-friend: Cameron from Ingenue Mom.

The post is called A Letter to My Pregnant Self... I hope you will click over to Ingenue Mom and read it - I kinda poured my heart out in this one.

Also, while you're there, please check out Cameron's digs - you'll be glad you did! Among other things she writes about being a mom to baby Isis, blog tips, breastfeeding, organic foods, sleep training, cloth diapering, and of course Twilight every now and then. You'll definitely want to add her to your reader.

And, just because, here are a few photos of my (little) man and I. I took these on a whim today when I realized we were a little matchy matchy. (And no, I didn't plan that, thankyouverymuch.) Levi was far more interested in eating the camera than looking into it or smiling for it. But hey, babies... They're so freaking cute regardless... 'specially mine.

It was obviously a spontaneous photo shoot... or else I would have cleaned my mirror, made the bed, and moved the laundry basket that's sitting on my dresser. But hey, just a little glimpse into my world today. We like it here.

Dear mommy-friends, my hubs has been away for nearly two weeks and I've been single-parenting it (except for the brief hiatus last weekend when we went camping and it ended up raining). But yeah, totally on my own with my munchkin. (Hard! Tiring! Different!) For that reason I've not been around the memos (or other blogs) quite as much lately, but I'm okay with that. I've been busy taking care of my boy and helping him through his latest growth spurt and tooth appearance (and completely crashing out during his naps because I'm exhausted!). The great news is... Ryan comes home in the morning... it's Fathers Day on Sunday in Australia... AND I'm staring to make plans for our first white Christmas at home in America in FIVE years. (Oh, glory!) December can't come soon enough. What's happening in your world today? What's a must-read post you've written this week? I'd love to stop by for a visit.

hoping you'll visit cameron's place,

  1. Adriel, I loved your letter- We had a really similar experience. I planned an unmedicated birth, ended up being induced and ultimately having a C-section. I felt like such a failure and I'm so worried that I'll have to continue having c-sections in the future. I have to just realize that I can only do my best, which is what I always try to do. The important thing is that our boys are healthy and happy :)

  3. I especially love the last shot of you and Levi with matching facial expressions. That is just too cute:) My little girl always wants to eat my camera too. It's getting much harder to take her picture these days! I'm sorry you've been on your own for two weeks! I know that when my hubs takes off for his fishing adventures for 3 days (I work full time too), I am deader than dead by the time he gets back! Hope you get an even better nap when the hubs returns and yeah for Christmas back in the states!

  4. I love the pictures! You have a beautiful little guy!! Your letter was inspiring, I actually teared up while reading it. I shared it with my followers, I hope that is alright. I figure every pregnant woman should have the opportunity to read something like your letter, I wish I had been able to while I was pregnant. I hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend, I know your hubby coming home will be nice! :-)
